Neil deGrasse Tyson will be speaking at Western Kentucky University on October 26th, and I'll be driving down that afternoon to see him. He is one of the most entertaining scientists around and this 10 minute clip highlights both his humor, and intelligence.

If you've been following the scientific news you couldn't miss the news about "Ardi" (Ardipithecus Ramidus). What I liked about the 2-hour Discovery Channel presentation called "Discovering Ardi" was how they took you through the process used to discover and investigate the fossils. I recommend watching the full episode when you get a chance, but here is a quick preview that will give you a taste of what I mean by showing you the process.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

This is a very nice interview with Richard Dawkins about his latest book. I recently went to see him speak at Indiana University and he spent about 30 mintues reading from his latest book "The Greatest Show on Earth: The evidence for evolution". This video captures much of the same feeling as what I saw.
